

This chair design challenge is built from %100 cardboard with a unique reclining capability. By pushing the back seat portion, the leg rest lifts with a simple lever mechanism connecting the two components.
The lever mechanism was initially tested using pins, Bristol board, and a tack wall. I also made a lego model and small scale chair model to further develop the mechanism and chair design





The design challenge required us to use only two 4x8 ft pieces of cardboard. I completed a lot of calculations to make sure I would have enough material and also to calculate all of the required angles for my design
